4 out of 5 stars Very good and clever film   September 1, 2010
ASH
I think some of the reviews are very wrong. To give this film 2 stars is ridiculous.

Firstly, the film has three top actors/actresses: julianne Moore, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried.

The film was very clever and works very well. I would hate to ruin the film for any potential buyers so will ignore too much detail regards the stroyline. It basically involves Chloe (Amanda Seyfried) getting involved in a family's life as the mother of the family (Julianne Moore) suspects her husband is cheating on her.

I really enjoyed the film and the storyline was great. You also get to see Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried undressed which is not a bad thing! I also disagree with reviews that say thej acting is bad... the acting was fantastic, particularly from Julianne Moore and Seyfried!!!!

Overall I rate the film 8/10 and is a film you can re-watch unlike some

1 out of 5 stars Not even a good porno movie never mind a thriller !   August 24, 2010

This film has had a lot of hype - I can see why after watching it, it has a very weak storyline and extremely unprofessional acting (where one actor waits for the other to finish talking before they talk and no emotion).

The film is basically a soft core porn movie, and not a good one at that - so bad I could'nt even watch more than 45 minutes of this very poor movie - certainly not a thriller, but a sure fire bore !

its the worst film I have seen with Liam Neeson in it... especially after "TAKEN" which was superb.. it was a great let down
No wonder it never hit the cinema's.....

1 out of 5 stars sometimes it's best not to buy before watching!   August 21, 2010

If I had realised what this film was going to be about I would never have bought it! I purchased it as a present because of the actors and actresses in it and wrongly assumed that it would be a nice film. I felt that it was unsuitable for the receopient and cannot believe that I parted with money for this. Apart from it being a deeply disappointing story it was too sexual in content; almost to the point of being what the film was actually about as opposed to a good story line with some sexual content. I will certainly NOT watch it again and feel that I was deceived because of the performers. Not a mistake that I will make again!

4 out of 5 stars Erotic Thriller   August 8, 2010
prisrob (New England USA)
A simple premise for a film, marriage gone stale, wife feels threatened, husband is overworked and over stressed. Wife, in this case, is Julianne Moore, and husband is Liam Neeson. What could be wrong?

Julianne plays Dr Catherine Stewart, an Ob/Gyn. Her husband is David, a college professor. Catherine suspects David of having affairs with his students, and she hires a professional call girl played by Amanda Seyfried. Catherine wants Chloe to entice David to see if he has an interest in an affair. The entire substance of this seems so far-fetched. Chloe reports the conversations and action back to Catherine and apparently they are a turn on to Catherine. In the midst of this, Catherine and David's son who is an intelligent musically gifted son. However, his mother has interfered in his life and it seems he will not forgive her. He brings his girlfriends into the home and they stay overnight. Communication of any kind seems to be gone. At one point Catherine admits she would do anything for her son. At this point as the film becomes complicated, the action picks up. Emotions run high and life becomes difficult. Catherine is acting out of control and control is something she must have. David is confused and wonders what is going on in their lives. This family whose life has been stale comes undone and tragedy ensues. The ending is really anti-climatic, but the graduation party of the son brings to light an interesting object and we wonder have we misjudged the entire film.
